Life is strange

I had forgotten I had this blog as I have one on WordPress and rarely use it. So I will be coming back here now to do more I think. We all have ideas of what we will post about and then get sidetracked sometimes. Any way... Life has been interesting. I have run a few small local sci-fi conventions, helped with a Tarot Convention, joined a coven, studied Irish Paganism, done more Tarot work, and am trying to prep to pass my SHRM-CP exam. I have gotten a job at a boutique design firm and am the office manager there while still trying to do all the other stuff listed above. I have made some great connections and am working on expanding my knowledge base in all these areas as well as maintain my marriage and social life. Crazy right? I mean it really isn't much but again it can be more than most and way less than others. We will have to see where this all goes. Ok More later. Here are some amazing things I have learned and amazing folks I have met in the last 5 years to explain the break here: People first: Morgan Daimler,: "I have been a witch since 1991, following a path based on the Fairy Faith blended with neopagan witchcraft." Their blog is amazing! http://lairbhan.blogspot.com/ Lora O'Brien: "Lora is a traditionally published Author, Teacher, and Guide: native born Irish, with strong personal and professional experience in our history, heritage, archaeology, mythology, & Irish Spirituality. " https://loraobrien.ie/wp/ Vyviane Armstong: "Land Sea Sky Travel was founded to offer travel opportunities to all. Founder Vyviane Armstrong has been event planning and arranging sacred site tours since 1999, with a special focus on Goddess and Sacred Site pilgrimages in North America, UK, and Ireland. " http://www.landseaskytravel.com/ NorthWest Tarot Symposium: "This symposium is focused on Cartomancy, the art of reading cards for divination, including Tarot, Oracle, and Lenormand. We look forward to having students, readers, and deck creators join us for a weekend of vending, workshops, art exhibits, performance, networking, and fun!" http://nwtarotsymposium.com/ BayCon: "The Bay Area’s Longest Fan-Run Science Fiction & Fantasy Convention" Theme changes every year so the website changes as well. @018's theme was Patchweork of Fandom. http://baycon.org/bcwp/ PantheaCon: "PantheaCon is a Pagan conference held in San Jose, California over Presidents’ Day weekend each year." https://pantheacon.com/wordpress/ Reader's Studio hosted by The Tarot School of NY: "Readers Studio is a magical place, a rich and multi-layered community that comes together each year for three intense and enchanted days of sharing, passionate teaching and learning, socializing and all things Tarot." http://www.tarotschool.com/RS18/

And since I was a Duranie in the 80's ...

In celebration of National Duran Duran Appreciation Day i say this to you: Sing Blue Silver and dance in the Light of the New Moon on Monday. Travel in the Nightboat and ride with Chauffeur. All She Wants is And Ordinary World but all you have is New Religion. Time to follow the Skin Trade with Too Much Information and use The Reflex to find My Own Way. While the Wild Boys are being Notorious, keep in mind you don't want Careless Memories of aFemme Fatale to stop you from seeing Girls on Film. So Reach Up for The Sunrise and don't forget the Bedroom Toys for a Perfect Day. Yes you may have to Hold Back the Rain but What Happens Tomorrow will be Nice. Ok now go find your D2 tshirts and rock out! Enjoy their first big video, Hungry Like the Wolf.

SuperHeroes from my past remembered and celebrated. Thanks TheNerdyBird for the reminder.

My superhero influences were Wonder Woman, Isis and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Where are the SuperHeroes for us now? Here is an intro to Electra Woman and Dyna Girl in case you don't know it.     And here is ISIS:     And of course Wonder Woman:   Of course this is is a dream of what we would love for a the Wonder Woman Movie to be:     Someday... some day. At least we had Princess Leia as a role model to see on the big screen.     and

May is National Masturbation Month.. have you shown yourself some love?

With all the stressful things going on in the world, it is time to take a moment and recall that May is National Masturbation Month! That is correct!  It is time to give yourselves a hand and relax.

This post from HuffPost is pretty spot on.

I say take time to enjoy yourself.  You are amazing. And masturbation really helps you know what your like and where you like to be touched as well as in what ways you like to be touched.

So head to your local shop or favorite online store and have fun.

Maybe join a Mastubate-athon or create one for yourself.

Masturbate in the merry month of May!

WHERE ARE YOU GEEKY ROSE?

Well I have been busy!

I host 2 Tarot MeetUps, one in San Francisco and one in Fremont.  I also am one of the host of a local Vaginal Fantasy Book Club meetup in San Francisco.

I am also working on BayCon 2013 as the Programming Division Head. You may think it is hard work and you would be right.  Hopefully this year everyone has fun.  We are doing some new things like a DIY Room and focusing on Dark Fantasy this year. Should be fun.

We have Hugo winner and current Hugo Nominee Lois McMaster Bujold as our Writer Guest of Honor, Cliff Nielson as our Artist Guest of Honor, SJ Tucker and Betsy Tinney from Tricky Pixie as Special Musical Guests of Honor, Chris and John O' Hallaren as Fan Guests of Honor and Veronica Belmont as our Toastmaster.

I have more to share but my bed and hubby are calling.

Check out some of the fun at any of the events or groups of which I am a part.  I will post more during BayCon if I haven't fallen over. ;-)

And here is the adorable SJ Tucker singing about geeky fun.

Where has the Geeky Rose Been?

Hello!

I have been trying to survive the winter holidays as well as the Killer Crud of 2012-2013. With ConVolution 2012, the Great Dickens Christmas Fair, LosCon 2012, PantheaCon 2013 and being sick off and on through out, it i has been a busy winter.

And now I am in full swing on planning for BayCon 2013! We have a great line up with Lois McMaster Bujold as our Write Guest of Honor, Cliff Nielsen as our Artist Guest of Honor, SJ Tucker and Betsy Tinney as Special Music Guests of Honor, Veronica Belmont as Toastmistress and John and Christine O' Halloran as Fan Guests of Honor.  I run the Programming division and am excited about all the great panel we are planning but it leaves little time for blogging.

I realize I am living more life than I have time to write about it.  But there have been some really cool things I have gotten to do besides the things above!

I went to W00tStock Founders Day 2 via SF Sketchfest. The special guest was Chris Hardwick who is terrific. The Pirate's Wife Lament

I have also been participating in the Vaginal Fantasy Hangout and doing a live meet up in San Francisco, which will meet monthly.

Ok Off to get some sleep and see what is next for me.
